Silver(II) route to unconventional superconductivity

چکیده

The highly unusual divalent silver in difluoride (AgF$_2$) features a nearly square lattice of Ag$^{+2}$ bridged by fluorides. As structural and electronic analogue cuprates, its superconducting properties are yet to be examined. Our first principles structure calculations reveal striking resemblance between AgF$_2$ the cuprates. Computed spin susceptibility shows magnetic instability consistent with experimentally observed antiferromagnetic transition. A linearized Eliashberg theory fluctuation-exchange approximation an unconventional singlet $d$-wave pairing for bulk at optimal electron doping. is found strengthen decreasing interlayer coupling, highlighting importance quasi-2D nature crystal structure. These findings place category high-$T_\text{C}$ superconductors, chemical uniqueness may help shed new lights on phenomena.
